The Tuscan Maremma Le Sughere di Frassinello di Rocca di Frassinello was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Gavorrano, in the province of Grosseto. Since the fifth harvest this wine has entered the Top 100 of the prestigious Wine Spectator magazine.
It is produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested entirely by hand between the end of August and the first half of September. The vinification takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Following the malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in half new barriques, and for a further 9 months in the bottle before being marketed.
It has a ruby red color. The nose opens with a large and intense bouquet, characterized by hints of red fruits. On the palate it is of great texture and round, with soft tannins and a pleasantly persistent and enveloping finish.
Perfect to accompany savory first courses, it is ideal in combination with all game dishes, such as venison, wild boar and hare, and with wild duck.
