The Rancia vineyard takes its name from the ancient farm that stands next to a pre-existing Benedictine monastery. It is a plot located in the highest and most noble part of the area of the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the southernmost border of the Chianti Classico appellation. This is where this great Tuscan cru is born, a wine that needs no introduction such is its fame. The Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG "Rancia" of Fèlsina is a pure Sangiovese of great expressiveness, always fine and elegant. A great Chianti Classico since 1983, the first year of production of the "Rancia".
TASTING NOTES
Ruby red, intense and lively. On the nose it expresses all the floreality of the best Sangiovese, followed by slightly spicy and fruity notes. These, after a few moments, are joined by a light mineral and toasted hint. An olfactory profile of great elegance that is also found in the mouth, where a well-defined tannin balances a certain softness and a nice trace of acidity. Very fine, expressive, it closes with a finish of great persistence.
