With this important Chianti Classico the Mazzei, owners of the Castello di Fonterutoli since 1435, want to celebrate their illustrious ancestor Ser Lapo, to whom we owe the first known document on the use of the name "Chianti". Mazzei's Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG “Ser Lapo” is a unique red in terms of texture, vinified in steel and left to mature for about a year in barrique. The result is one of the great Riserva of the appellation, a wine of incredible complexity and persistence, to be tried. Dark ruby red, on the nose it expresses very incisive notes of dried violet and ripe berries, traces of vanilla and nutmeg, black pepper and leather. On the palate it is long, harmonious, elegant and of great persistence. PAIRINGS For the whole meal, it goes well with game dishes, stews, grilled red meats, medium-aged cheeses.
