Casanuova di Nittardi Chianti Classico is a pure Sangiovese grown in the Doghessa vineyard. The vineyard is located at 450 meters above sea level with southern exposure and has a medium-deep soil, rich in Galestro and Alberese. To pay homage to Michelangelo each year an artist creates two works, one for the label and one for the silk paper with which the bottle itself is wrapped. Illustrious names on the international art scene have followed one another since 1981, including Hundertwasser, Horst Janssen, Giuliano Ghelli Yoko Ono, Mimmo Paladino, Günther Grass, Dario Fo, Karl Otto Götz and Mikis Theodorakis.
