The Grosso Sanese comes from a vineyard of about two hectares adjacent to the company building. The land has a beautiful south-southeast exposure, the soil is calcareous of medium texture and mainly composed of alberese and galestro; the vines are pruned with the spurred cordon method, with a maximum number of six buds. The yield is limited to 50/60 ql. per hectare for a total production of about 10,000 bottles per year.
Fermentation takes place in 50 hl truncated conical oak vats. The fermentation and maceration process generally lasts for about thirty days, after which the wine is passed into barriques where the malolactic fermentation continues.
Aging in Allier oak barriques (of which 30% is renewed every year) lasts for eighteen months, after which the final blending and bottling takes place. Before being released, the wine rests for another six months in the bottle.
A high-class product, elegant in presenting a Sangiovese in the Riserva version that manages to express the full potential of the Chianti Classico DOCG in the glass. An explosion of exciting aromas and flavors, which overwhelms the nose and mouth in a sip that is characterized by a fresh note that makes this "Grosso Sanese" truly irresistible. The grapes ferment in oak vats, macerating for 30 days, to then carry out the malolactic fermentation and refine first in barriques for 18 months, and then in glass for another 6 months. An exciting label, with which Podere il Palazzino perfectly interprets the magic of Tuscan wines.
In the glass it takes on a very intense ruby red hue, with a garnet edge. The nose is broad and rich in complex aromas: vanilla, toasted wood and sweet spices alternate with sensations of ripe red fruit. On the palate it is warm, velvety, with well integrated tannins and an interesting fresh note. It closes with a long finish.
