Podere Il Palazzino, owned by Alessandro and Andrea Sderci, and also managed by the young Edoardo, son of Alessandro, is located in Monti in Chianti, 20 km northeast of Siena, in the southern part of Chianti near Gaiole. The Sderci family became owners of the estate in the mid nineteenth century. Il Palazzino is an estate with a traditional style, but with a firm organic approach to viticulture. Since 2014 a new range of wines are labeled under the name of Edoardo Sderci, those wines are focused on extremly natural approach using only indigenous yeast and with a low or non percentage of added sulfites. Environment friendly practices are particularly meticulous here and are carried out through canopy management, soil management and grape yield management. The estate is not only certified organic but wines are produced with the highest respect for the different characters of the soils and vineyards and a natural attitude in vinification.
A blend of 80% Sangiovese 20% Merlot, this wine has a fine and delicate nose, full of pommergranade and raspberry. The flavor is quite intense, fresh, medium bodied, very pleasant with a fruity and mineral finish. Pair with tuscan ham, oysters, seashell sauté, or have as an aperitif. "
